12-18-2009 | AQUA Phoenix (5.5) Update Available
A new version of AQUA Phoenix, version 5.5, has been released on our FTP site. A new build of Xlerator is also located on the FTP site. This Xlerator build must be installed in conjunction with AQUA 5.5. These builds add many enhancements and updates. A listing of new features, fixes, and enhancements can be found in the release notes.
To avoid any problems during the upgrade please follow all instructions in order.
Upgrading ALL VERSIONS: As always, with any software update, BACKUP your existing program and DATA.
Upgrade and installation instructions for the upgrade can be found on the Aqua ftp site in the AQUA 5.5 folder.
Release Notes - AQUA
- Added 7 new reports and several new fields for the new QI Reports section
- Added new QI Exemplary Handling
- Fixed Unicode issues in the filter bar and other areas of the application
- Fixed Calltime and other dynamic parts of the More filter.
- Added comment boxes to all individual fields that are reported on in the incident performance report.
- Fixed various report issues that would make a report display out of order
- Fixed an import issue where if a case did not have a chief complaint the application would use the chief complaint for the previous case imported.
Release Notes - Xlerator 3.5
- Added: Rebuilt database backend to prepare for interaction with SQL Server, Firebird Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.
- Added: XLerator now handles licensing (Not active for AQUA 5.5)
- Added: Added a new and improved transport stream that optimizes network throughput
- Added: Console now allows up to three login attempts before closing down
- Added: Console now displays license and dongle information
- Added: Improved user security with password hashing
- Updated: Improved overall performance of connections
- Updated: Increased startup time by ten for large databases
- Updated: Updated with the latest Aqua database updates
- Updated: Increased console stability when creating new aliases

A new Fire release is available to Fire Protocol Version 5. It can be downloaded from the ProQA FTP site.
- Upgrades can be done but agencies will need to run pqafm.exe after the upgrade completes and select the Create option for Boat Information, Train Information, and Suspect Information before running ProQA.
- A best practice for this update is to create a new Fire database and archive your existing one. This is due to changes in the database due to addition of the Boat Information, Train Information, and Suspect Information tables.

7-21-2009 | ProQA Medical Protocol 36 ? Pandemic/Epidemic/Outbreak (Officially Enacted Triage) Update Available

The National Academy of Emergency Dispatch has released an update to Protocol 36 that is available for both ProQA and the Manual Cards. This ProQA and Manual Card update for versions 12.0 and 11.3 is for North American English, UK English, and Australia/New Zealand English users and is now available through the Protocol 36 links located on the Academy?s website: www.emergencydispatch.org and the PDC website: www.prioritydispatch.net. This update should be downloaded and applied as soon as possible.
The IAED?s various other Protocol 36 language and dialect versions will be posted in order within the next few days. Please check the Protocol 36 section on the IAED and PDC websites for obtaining these releases.
In addition to the Protocol 36 changes, the following other items were fixed in the ProQA update:

A new ProQA build, 3.4.3.18, is now available on the ProQA v12 FTP site.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Due to changes to the Response Configuration Utility, if you have not already upgraded to ProQA Medical 3.4.3.15, the following process MUST be followed to ensure that existing locally defined responses are not lost:
- Open the current ProQA Response Configuration Utility and under the file menu select export.
- Export the .exp file to a location (Make sure rename the *.exp to a user friendly name such as "response_export.exp.")
- Update ProQA with the installers
- Open the new ProQA Response Configuration utility (3.4.2.10) and under the file menu select import.
