Ethical and Medical-Legal: The Shape of Modern Dispatch

We provide in-depth insight both for the ethical and correct application of medical dispatch and the expected standard of care. Learn the legal costs of not understanding and correctly applying priority dispatch in an examination of the dispatch danger zones.

DAY TWO:

MPDS Protocols: Principles of Operation

We teach exactly how the protocols function, from Case Entry to case completion. Learn how to remotely evaluate the patient, assign needed resources, and assist responders. We finish the day with hands-on practice in real-life medical scenario drills.

Instructed Practice: Learn by Doing and Reviewing

We continue real-life scenario drills in small groups with instructor review. We also walk through each type of call, including trauma and time-life priority situations needing Dispatch Life Support to multiple-patient calls.

EMD Quality Improvement: How Excellence is Achieved

Learn how the quality improvement process helps ensure the safety of responders, patients, bystanders, and callers, and helps you make responsible dispatch decisions. See how the QI process is used to help you evolve, improve, and know how you're really doing.

Dispatch Life Support: Helping Everyone Over the Phone

Learn how to take control of the call, effectively interrogate the caller, and provide life-saving instructions. Learn the "predictable events." Listen to real-life calls illustrating the techniques discussed.
